Grantour – Lake Como and the Stelvio Pass
Northern Italy in the late summer. This is the most requested tour for 2010 and it’s certainly going to be a trip to remember.
The starting point is Lake Como with an evening staying in the wonderful lakeside location of Ville d’Este. Hailed as one of the best hotels in the world by Travel & Leisure, Condé Nast Traveller and Forbes Traveler, this famous destination has been widely praised for its beautiful gardens, exquisite cuisine, impeccable décor and the annual Concorso d’Eleganza each April.
As a marque of this tradition,we will be awarding a ‘Best of Show’ trophy to the member with the most desirable car – be it classic or modern.
Day two will see our tour trade the shores of Como for Via Predore on Lake D’iseo where we will have a chance to see how the fabulous Riva yachts are made. Make sure you pack the sea-legs as we will also have the chance to venture onto the water in these beautiful water-craft.
The stunning views over the lake will be traded in for the breathtaking roads that make up the Stelvio Pass. The accomodation may not be quite so sumptuous as Ville d’Este, but the driveway is! It’ll be early to bed on Day Three to ensure a nice early start to make the most of the quiet roads.
This 5-day trip will be fabulous – numbers are limited, so please register your interest as soon as possible. If we are too heavily over-subscribed, we may do two back-to-back Grantours to make sure nobody is left out.
